Plump it Up!

Plumping Lip Gloss

Italians have a thing for lip plumpers. Every pharmacy has them, whereas in the U.S. they are used casually in stores such as Sephora. In Italy they are in pharmacies along with the make up stores. Danielle was our guinea pig with the different types of lip plumpers, and I don’t think that we actually found one that really works, but Italy believes that they do!

Men and nose rings???

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

I’m not sure what it was about nose rings that the men in Italy liked, but so many of them had their noses pierced. And they were little studs, not rings. While I was in the tattoo place getting my nose pierced, there were 3 guys in there with me waiting to get their noses pierced also. I would never see that in America and it was so weird to me. Piercings are normal for guys, but in specific places, a nose is not one of them. It was definitely new and I don’t see guys in America wearing them any time soon. Nose rings

Pin stripes have been spotted

Pin stripesI was getting off of the metro and going up the escalator when I noticed a man dressed in a light blue and white pin stripe suit. It was made out of material that almost looked like a linen table cloth. The color reminded me a lot of the men who wear white pants and light blue shirts but it was just a suit mixed together. It was cool and very different. I enjoyed looking at all the different fashions of men and this was definitely a unique one.

Man bags, man bags everywhere

Man bags, man bags everywhereThe one thing almost every guy in Italy had that almost no guy in America has….. Man bag!!! Every where I turned in Italy, I could spot at least one guy with a man bag. If you came to America and saw a guy with a man bag, the first thing that would cross your mind is gay. Not many guys would be caught dead wearing a man bag. But not in Italy. It was stylish and fashionable and in my opinion, it looked nice. There were so many different types too. Big, small, leather, novelty, designer, you name it, they wore it. And they wore it well. I predict that the man bag will be a very popular fashion in the future.
